Queens also plays an important role in the growth of the sports culture as it is the host of Tennis’ US Open known as one of the four Grand Slam Tournaments. New York City Marathon is also famous throughout the world. Boxing is also the vital part of the city’s sport’s culture. The Amateur Boxing Golden Gloves Tournament held at the Madison Square every year. In the year 1984, the New York City also hosted the 1984 Summer Paralympics.
